Week 14 - Snake in the Belly

Yes Yes! I hit Week 14 today. On some days I don't feel pregnant, cos I can still fit into my normal clothes. But my lunchtime, I definitely feel pregnant. I have been unhooking my skirts and by evening, I look kinda fat...not pregnant enough for people to give up their seats for me, but I do look like I've been eating too much!

The other big struggle is CONSTIPATION! Going to the toilet is like a battle everyday and for someone who is usually super regular (on average, 2 toilet trips a day...and I mean the big toilet trips, not the small ones) its quite a change. So I tried prunes...doesn't help. I tried extra fruits and vegies...doesn't help. Papaya - nope. Then I discovered prune juice. A friend of mine suggested I try it...and oh my does it work. It works so well, I've had to stop taking it cos its giving me the runs! I still haven't quite found the right dosage yet, but after last night's explosion, I'm too scared to drink any today.

They say that you won't start feeling the baby kick till Week 18 to 20....so I was happily watching TV this evening after dinner and stretched out on the couch...and I felt a sharp poke on my right abdomen and something like a little snake run across my belly. I jumped up and told the Husband "I felt something move!"...its strange, I can't tell if its gas, or my intestines, but I definitely felt something. I tried to move into the same position again, all stretched out but that was it...could not recreate the moment again. Its quite amazing...I'd like to think it was Pipsqueak, but you never know. Guess I'll have to wait till Week 20.

Interesting & colourful account. Must try to check on regular updates to see how junior is going as his/her second cousins are already looking for generational peers...
Not sure about the 'snake' name. will be hard to get use to calling him/her 'snake' I'll start with Lim Junior.

haahaa...i'm so pleased to hear Pipsqueak is being so active. what a darling!!! haahaaa...
my colleague experienced constipation during her pregnancy too. and dragon fruits saved her life. perhaps you should try. would be more natural than the processed prune juice.
